6. Dilute sulfuric acid cannot be added when the storage battery is depleted due to insufficient storage capacity. When the battery is in use, the sulfuric acid in the electrolyte is not consumed, but it gradually shifts to the two plates as the discharge progresses, and the density of the electrolyte drops. As long as the battery is charged with a DC power supply, sulfuric acid will be precipitated from the plate and the electrolyte density will be restored. When the battery is undercharged, adding dilute sulfuric acid will not only increase the power but also damage the battery. The correct approach is to charge the lossy battery after it is unloaded.

10. It is not allowed to install only one spring in the dual-valve spring diesel engine. On high-speed overhead diesel engines, there are two valve springs, one large and one small, which rotate in opposite directions. When one spring breaks, the other spring can still support the valve, preventing the valve from falling into the cylinder and causing an accident. The two springs rotate in the opposite direction. After one breaks, the other spring does not get stuck. This ensures that the other spring works normally. Some operators believe that since one spring is broken, there is still one spring to work, so when a spring is broken, it is not replaced in time, or even only one spring is installed. This is wrong, and it will destroy the spring. The original design required that not only the spring elasticity be weakened but also the valve locking tabs could come off, which would have serious consequences.
