Egg prices mainly fall in the short term

Analyst Huo Xiaona, analyst of the Ministry of Commerce Business Forecasting Technical Support and China International Electronic Commerce Center’s domestic trade center, said on the 18th that egg prices have continued to fall since mid-September. As the consumption of eggs is not prosperous, the supply and demand in the market is still loose, and it is expected that prices will continue to decline in the short term.

According to the commercial forecast and monitoring released on the 18th, the market prices of edible agricultural products (11.29, 0.09, 0.80%) in 36 large and medium-sized cities nationwide rose slightly last week (November 10 to November 16), of which the average price of 18 kinds of vegetables was higher than the previous week. Up 2.3%, cucumber, beans, eggplant prices rose by the top, rose by 16.4%, 8.5% and 8.1% respectively.

The price of meat was generally stable. The prices of pork and mutton were basically the same as the previous week. The price of beef dropped by 0.1%. The price of eggs continued to fall, falling by 0.8% from the previous week. The price of white broilers rose by 0.4%.

Huo Xiaona pointed out that since mid-September, the new supplemented hens have concentrated production, coupled with the delay in the elimination of old hens, the increase in the number of laying hens, the increase in the supply of egg markets, and the recent holiday stimulus, the market consumption of flat eggs , leading to an apparently loose supply and demand in the egg market. The wholesale price of eggs last week fell 5.3% from the peak in mid-September.
