Herbs for two years old. The annual rosette leaves are short; rosettes are linear in shape, with an apex enlarged, white cartilaginous, semi-circular, with teeth.
Flowering stems are generally 10-20 cm tall in younger ages. Small ones are only 5 cm long, sometimes up to 40 cm in height; leaves alternate, sparsely stalked, barbed, linear to lanceolate, as long as 3 cm long and 2-5 mm wide.
