Cutting medical care from e-government

In 2014, it was called "the first year of Internet medical care". Although the exposure rate of Wanda Information is not as good as that of Micromedicine, Ping An, Tencent, and Ali, in fact, this low-key company researched industry informationization as early as 20 years ago. The depth of "Internet + medical" is not to be underestimated. Shi Yibing believes that the weight of Wanda Information in medical information is not inferior to BAT.

Unlike most Internet companies cutting into medical care from the C side, Wanda's business path starts from the B side, which is related to its initial background. The predecessor of Wanda Information was the “Shanghai Computer Software Research Institute” established in 1990. Its team is mainly from about 100 computer graduate students from Fudan University. The purpose is to study how the Chinese software industry is in line with the world. The research benefited the country's encouragement of applied research institutions to the market and became the first research institute to be transformed into a business. At the end of 1995, the institute completed a diversified and mixed ownership structure and changed its name to “Shanghai Wanda Information System Co., Ltd.”.

"We are pursuing software technology and hope to use technology to change society. This is Wanda's gene." Shi Yibing said, "So we have done a lot of things that we think have social value, and may even have no income, but We have no plans. It seems that it is these things that have contributed to our later development."

Wanda Information's early business focused on the provision of software development, services and overall solutions in smart cities, and established the city's informatization construction with e-government as the core business. It has successively undertaken the first phase of Pudong Airport Consulting Project (1997). Shanghai Computer Insurance Expenses Auditing Computer Management System (1999) and Shanghai Labor and Social Security Management Information System (1999). Taking the Shanghai Medical Insurance Project as an example, the computer management system completed by Wanda realized the 7 million insured persons in Shanghai at that time, providing payment settlement ports for the settlement points of medical institutions with different technical platforms of more than one thousand, realizing the real-time medical expenses all the time. Transaction settlement. Up to today, the informatization market in the medical insurance field is mainly in Wanda, Neusoft and Sichuan Yinhai, and in terms of technical strength, Wanda slightly dominates.

Shi Yibing said that Wanda only had software technology at the beginning, and because of participating in these projects, it gradually established a business direction with the industry as a breakthrough point. "Software is not just programming, it is actually a system engineering. We are cutting in from the perspective of research and learning, so the development from the beginning emphasizes software specifications, standards, openness and management."

In August 2001, the State Council reorganized the “National Informatization Leading Group” to form a government-led pattern with a higher level of informatization development. In 2004, Wanda Information became the first software company in China to pass the cmmi5 standard certification. Shi Yibing said that it is precisely because of the high standards that have been used since the beginning. Wanda’s development has been low-key and steady, rather than “explosive” growth. The advantage is that Wanda’s customer churn rate is very low.

As can be seen from the three quarterly reports in 2016, Wanda Information's recent source of income is still mainly e-government, helping various government functional departments to complete the work of market supervision and informationization. Shi Yibing revealed that Wanda Information has covered the market supervision e-government in six or seven provinces across the country and is in a leading position.
