The two confirmed cases of human infection with H7N9 avian influenza were from Wusheng County in Guang'an City and were diagnosed on February 20. After investigation, there was no epidemiological correlation between the two cases, and there was a history of live poultry exposure.
The results of the external environmental monitoring conducted by the disease prevention and control department of Guang’an City on February 20 showed that 1 of the H7 subtypes of chicken swabs were positive, demonstrating the presence of the H7 influenza virus in the local environment. Combined with the patient's symptoms, epidemiological history and laboratory results, it was initially identified as a human case of H7N9 infection. 92 people who are currently in close contact with them are undergoing medical observation and have no abnormal symptoms.
Since the Sichuan Provincial Health and Development Commission announced on February 2 that the province first discovered human cases of H7N9 bird flu infection, Sichuan has cumulatively confirmed 8 cases of human infection with H7N9 bird flu this year, including 5 cases of Suining City (1 death) and Deyang. There were 1 case in the city, 2 cases in Guang'an City (1 case died).
The Sichuan Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission informed that the province has already implemented relevant prevention and control measures and required the H7N9-positive regions where the epidemic situation or external environment is detected to immediately shut down the live poultry business market, and no epidemic situation or external environmental monitoring has been detected.
