The method of expanding population screening, mutant gene knock-in mouse model and other methods to verify the pathogenicity of BSG mutations was constructed. A genetically modified mouse model that causes the axial length to become longer, and the pathogenic mechanism is clarified.
According to the study, BSG is expressed in the ciliary body and the neural retina, suggesting that the target tissue of this high myopia, the target tissue, lays a genetic basis for the prevention and control of high myopia. This is the first myopic gene verified by a gene mutation knock-in mouse model, which has attracted great international attention. The study also found that the pathogenesis and prevention and control of patients with early-onset high myopia have entered a new era.
