The main routes of transmission of hepatitis C include: blood transmission, sexual transmission, unsafe injection, and insufficient sterilization of medical equipment.
The development process of hepatitis C to liver cancer
Since most people do not know that they are infected with HCV, many hospitals do not use hepatitis C detection as a routine physical examination program. Therefore, this "silent" liver disease has been deteriorating for several decades after HCV infection.
Infection: 80% of people did not show any symptoms when initially infected with HCV.
Chronic diseases: 60%-85% of people will develop chronic hepatitis C after being infected with HCV.
Cirrhosis: 15%-30% of patients with chronic hepatitis C develop cirrhosis.
Liver cancer: 1% to 5% of patients eventually become liver cancer.
Hepatitis C treatment
60%-90% of patients infected with HCV can be cured. Some of the latest treatments offer better cure rates and reduce the time and side effects required for treatment. However, it is a pity that even in countries where hepatitis C is endemic, only 3% to 5% of people are able to receive reasonable treatment.
