U.S. launches new nitric oxide measurement device According to an article in the Journal of Allergology, segmental exhaled NO (FeNO) levels - a non-invasive airway inflammation agent marker, can pass NIOX MINO (a A new type of portable device), the value obtained is reliable and repeatable.
Dr. Sami L. Bahna of the University of Louisiana Health Science Center and his colleagues believe that FeNO is a non-invasive marker of inflammation that plays a role in the diagnosis and treatment of asthma. They were enrolled in 110 subjects who were over 6 years of age and had clinical signs of allergies and asthma. The study evaluated the FeNO levels of the subjects by NIOX and 3 NIOX MINO.
It was found that the results of any of the three NIOX MINOs showed good individual FeNO levels, and there was a significant relationship between FeNO measured by NIOX, especially between NIOX and NIOX MINO, and the average FeNO individual difference was -0.5 ppb.
The researchers pointed out that the results help support the use of NIOX MINO in clinical practice, which is currently used in Europe and is pending approval by the Food and Drug Administration in the United States. ——Shanghai Medical Device Industry Association website
