Detection technology is the only international leader in China
The long-standing pain of domestic pharmaceutical R&D personnel is that China does not have a high-end molecular imaging medical device with completely independent intellectual property rights, and it is a blank in the emerging field of molecular imaging. It is understood that the medical imaging equipment used in clinical and research in China's hospitals and research institutes, especially large medical imaging equipment, is basically dependent on imports.
In order to break through the key issues that restrict the development of life science research, since 2003, Professor Tian Jie from the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has led nearly 50 master's and doctoral teams from the Chinese Academy of Sciences to conduct research and development of "medical imaging and molecular imaging". In 2006, the Ministry of Science and Technology approved the “Research on Key Scientific and Technological Issues of Molecular Imaging†into the National 973 Program, with Professor Tian Jie as the Chief Scientist.
So far, this project has achieved significant milestones. The good news is that one of the results - the molecular imaging system has achieved the transformation of results. In December of this year, Guangzhou Zhongke Yusheng Medical Devices Co., Ltd. used the existing research results to introduce the in-vivo autofluorescence molecular imaging system to the market, filling the gap in the domestic high-end medical device market with independent intellectual property rights.
According to the person in charge of the company, there are similar products in the international market. However, technically speaking, the molecular imaging system of Zhongke Shengsheng is more comprehensive, and it can carry out "complex non-homogeneous biological living body detection", which can distinguish the various tissues and organs such as heart, liver, spleen and lung. The technology has reached or exceeded the international advanced level, and its price is far lower than the similar products currently available on the market.
Early detection of birth path lesions
After the launch of the prototype at the end of last year, the molecular imaging system has been fully promoted to the market after nearly a year of improvement. The head of the company said that the system can observe the occurrence and development of diseases, especially cancer lesions, and the response to drug treatment, and can be used for virological research, construction of transgenic animal models, stem cell research, protein interaction studies, and In vitro detection of cells and other fields.
The most attractive thing is that the system has no damaging effect on the organism being tested. It is understood that the current X-ray, CT and other technologies commonly used in medicine have some side effects on the human body due to the application of radiation. The molecular imaging technology of the system uses near-infrared fluorescence to detect, without any damage or side effects on the detected organism.
In addition, compared to technologies such as CT, molecular imaging systems are expected to detect diseases early in the disease. For example, tumor cells, the current technology can only be detected after the formation of diseased cells, and molecular imaging techniques can be detected early in the pathogenesis of cells, and truly achieve early diagnosis.
The application fields of molecular imaging systems include food safety testing, plant testing, pharmaceutical formulation and dose management. Zhongke Yusheng will focus on product development, drug evaluation and testing. In addition, the molecular imaging system has far exceeded the similar products in the domestic and foreign markets in terms of cost performance.
“Doing the product well is the main responsibilityâ€
A background of economic development trend is that the total value of high-tech products in the province reached 1.7 trillion in January-September 2008, with a growth rate of 20%; the export of high-tech products was 1105.72 trillion US dollars, up 18.1% year-on-year; 72,125 patent applications It was granted 45,522 patents and 20,326 invention patent applications. It can be seen that the development of high-tech industries is very rapid.
In order to promote the development of high-tech industries, the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government have issued more than 20 policy documents. In September this year, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education, the two provinces and one province jointly formulated and issued the "Guangdong Independent Innovation Planning Outline". The provincial government issued the "Guangdong Province Construction Innovation Guangdong Action Program" and other documents, forming a strong policy support system.
As a high-tech enterprise supported by Guangzhou City, Zhongke Yusheng Company has become a key research project in Guangzhou and has received 5 million special funds. The person in charge of the company believes that such a policy environment is very encouraging for high-tech enterprises. At present, Zhongke Yusheng has also established the “Engineering Research Center of the Department of Biomedical Imaging Education†with Xidian University of Electronic Science and Technology, and continues to work on molecular imaging products.
In the next step, the company will build a high-quality service platform, do a good job in product promotion, and strive to achieve a "double harvest" of social and economic benefits. (Zeng Cong)
